At 9:00 AM we will hold a service that blends the best of both the Classic and Bridge services.

Troy and Heidi are missionaries in Moldova — Europe’s poorest country. After years of being a closed country, Moldova is now open to the gospel. Believers meet freely and without fear, committed young pastors are ready to be trained, and the church is experiencing new growth. Through leadership training, church planting efforts, MAPS construction teams, and Convoy of Hope outreaches, their goal is to reach Moldova for Christ. Now is the time for . . . The Moldova Mission!

Fire Bibles
During the month of April, we are partnering with Light For The Lost in making Fire Bibles in different languages of the world. A Fire Bible is a Pentecostal study Bible complete with commentary, concordance, study notes, articles, and maps. A gift of $10 will provide one Fire Bible for a believer in another part of the world. Evangel’s goal is to give $25,000 towards this need. Please designate the amount you want to give on your offering envelope.

This service format will offer many opportunities for you to join our “attend one, serve one” collection of people who volunteer on Sunday mornings at Evangel. We have opportunities to serve with children (nursery, preschool, and elementary age), greeting, hospitality, catering, Welcome Center, Information Center, and set-up or tear-down for The Current service. PrimeTime Dinner
For Those “55 and Better”
Our PrimeTime Dinner at Evangel, on April 14 at 6:30 PM, is for those “55 and Better.” The menu is stuffed pork chops, loaded sweet potato, California blend veggies, homemade bread, cheesecake, and coffee. We will enjoy music and testimony by Michael Land. Sign-up and pay at the Information Center on Sunday or in the church office during the week. The cost is $9.00, or $10 after Sunday, April 10. The sign-up deadline is Tuesday, April 12.

Argentina Mission’s Story
April 18 at 7:00 PM
We invite you to come and hear the Argentina Mission’s Story on Monday, April 18, at 7:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall. The mission’s team that traveled to Argentina in February is excited to share pictures and stories about their mission’s trip and how God worked in each of their lives. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear how God uses ordinary people to make a difference in people’s lives around the world.

Fine Arts Dessert Theatre
The Fine Arts Dessert Theatre will be Sunday, April 10, from 3:00 – 5:00 PM at The Element; admission is free. The Fine Arts Dessert Theatre will feature students performing the talents that God has given them. Come for an afternoon of great comedy, drama, and dessert!

Facility Expansion
Facility expansion plans were discussed at our recent Annual Meeting. The Church Board is presently
assimilating additional ideas from those present at the meeting. For members who were not at the meeting, you may request a copy of the proposed expansion by calling the church at 255-0500. As progress is made, additional information will be communicated to the membership. If you have further questions, the church office can direct you to one of our Church Board members.

Everyone interested in the life and ministry of Evangel is invited to attend.

Balloting is reserved for members.

Following adjournment, a light dinner will be served in the Fellowship Hall.

Jacob and Julie have ministered in Spain for more than 20 years. Jacob is joined with more than 100 soul winners who open-air preach nights a week, as thousands of people walk by Puerta del Sol in the heart of Madrid. This is considered the “Times Square” of Madrid and is the most important plaza in Spain. Jacob states, “If we go out to the street to preach, God WILL show up. Always!” God is doing incredible things and turning to Christ. Jacob asks that we “Pray for Boldness, Anointing (Power of the Spirit), Conviction of sin as we preach, Revival in the Church of Spain, Spiritual Awakening in Spain, and that we will endure till the end.”

What do you think you would say if you knew you only had a few more breaths of life? The world renowned artist and innovator, Leonardo da Vinci, said this before he died in 1519, “I have offended God and mankind because my work did not reach the quality it should have.” To me, that’s pretty interesting because I’ve seen da Vinci’s work and it is awesome!

For most people, when it comes to their final words, it’s all about family. For instance, US President James K. Polk’s last words were to his wife when he said, “I love you, Sarah. For all eternity, I love you.” And just before President Andrew Jackson died, his last words to his children were, “Oh, do not cry. Be good children and we will all meet in heaven.”

Of course, there have been many who lived without any regard for God, and their last words were an exclamation point of unbelief. On May 10, 1977, in her dying hour, actress Joan Crawford said this to her nurse who was praying for her, “Don’t you dare ask God to help me.” And just before he died, actor Humphrey Bogart said, “I should have never switched from Scotch to Martinis.” These examples of desperate and meaningless last words summarize desperate and meaningless lives.

But when it comes to famous last words, there are none more important than those of Jesus Christ. In seven short statements, Jesus summarized not only His life and ministry, but He summarized all that God put into motion the moment Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden. We live in a world that has so many diluted definitions of who Jesus is and what His death on the Cross means. In a brand new message series this month entitled, “Last Words,” we will examine the final words of Jesus and come to better understand the simplicity and magnitude of the Cross. This series will powerfully impact those who have followed Jesus for years, and it will be an eye-opener for those who have never really understood why Jesus died such a cruel death on the Cross.

The irony of Jesus’ last words is that they don’t reflect a dying Savior. Instead, they represent the essence of life that comes only from His death. Of all the famous last words that are interesting–even humorous–it’s Jesus’ last words that are worth remembering:

“Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” (Luke 23:34)
“I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise.” (Luke 23:43)
“Dear woman, here is your son,” and to the disciple, “Here is your mother.” (John 19:26-27)
“My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” (Matthew 27:46)
“I thirst.” (John 19:28)
“It is finished.” (John 19:30)
“Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.” (Luke 23:46)

During the last eight years, Jayme Montera has traveled across this nation preaching repentance, hope, forgiveness, deliverance, healing, and empowerment. “I believe that the church needs to be awakened to things of God.” In meetings, blind eyes have been opened, deaf ears now hear, broken bones mended, people stand up out of wheel chairs, broken hearts healed, and most importantly, thousands of souls saved. Jayme preaches the cross and Jesus crucified for the sins of everyone.

Jeremy Duckwitz works with the USDA-APHIS Wildlife Services in Hazelton, ND, as a government hunter/trapper. Jeremy will share his knowledge and experiences in the Art of Nature Observation and Tracking by explaining how and where to look for signs, and how to record tracks through photography, tracing, and casting. He will discuss the best methods for determining the species that left the sign and their characteristics. Wildlife paints a story on a canvas landscape that oftentimes leaves a full description of their previous activities. Deciphering the signs is a very enjoyable and rewarding family activity. He will reveal how God has worked in his life through challenges that minister to others and build character.

Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased at the Information Center beginning January 9.

Taught by financial expert Dave Ramsey, Financial Peace University is a 13-week video curriculum that incorporates small group discussions to encourage accountability and discipleship. Financial Peace University is highly entertaining for everyone, with a unique combination of humor, informative financial advice, and Biblical messages. You will learn how to eliminate debt and save money and will learn about cash flow planning, investing, real estate planning, giving, and more!

There will be a free preview session on Sunday, January 9, at 12:45 pm in the library. The full class begins the week of January 16.
